Uppercase Magazine - Issue #45

I am proud to share that my work is included in Uppercase Magazine’s 45th issue. The theme of the magazine is water, and it features a plethora of work across a broad range of disciplines.

Issues can be ordered directly from Uppercase Magazine or through select stockists. From what I understand, magazine distribution has come to a halt because of emergency measures related to COVID-19. Copies can be purchased directly from Uppercase or through this group of independent stockists.

A group exhibition with:

A false awakening is a vivid dream in which the dreamers think they have awakened from sleep even though they continue to dream. Elements of the dream may seem normal at first, but gradually become more surreal. In this exhibition, we will use the concept of false awakenings to showcase works that play with the viewer’s sense of reality. The works will explore the tension between the familiar and the unexpected. Both abstract and representational works will be included, addressing the theme from a variety of approaches, including form and texture, landscape and portraiture. The works may draw on dreams or dream-like experiences of the artists, depicting eerie or bizarre renditions of the ordinary.

This exhibition is being held in conjunction with Ron Shuebrook: Selected Works

Ron Shuebrook is one of my teachers and a dear friend who has taught me much through our conversations that began as I studied with him as part of the OCAD Florence Off-Campus Studies Program (2007-08), continuing to this day. I am humbled to exhibit in the parallel exhibition that he has curated alongside his own along with Amanda Clyne, Peter Johnston, Micah Lexier, Rachel MacFarlane, and David Urban.
